Cairo Liberation Front (CLF) is the eclectic musical vehicle of producers Joep Schmitz and Yannick Verhoeven. What impulsively began as two geeky, somewhat naive Dutch devotees of Egyptian electro-cha3bi, blossomed into an infectious musical exchange between artists from both the Middle East and Western Europe.

Since their genesis, CLF’s rousing DJ sets and headstrong punk rock ethos earned them worldwide recognition, most notably from The Guardian, the New York Times and The Quietus. For their upcoming record, both Schmitz and Verhoeven assume more of a behind-thescenes curatorship role, seeking out collaborations with the likes of Cairo rap pioneers Sadat & Fifty, Iraqi/Dutch vocalist Meis (aka Bagdaddy) and Syrian keyboard virtuoso Rizan Said.
